The Reduce Cyber Risk Organization
Our Mission
The Reduce Cyber Risk Non-profit organization aims to help reduce the chance for individuals to encounter a serious cyber threat. with the ever so increasing presence of people on the internet, the virtual age is becoming the future. This means more targets for hackers and scammers to attack. The organization was created as an attempt to help thwart the actions of those hackers and scammers and for the purpose of guiding and informing those with lesser experience on the topic of cyber crime and the detriments that come with it.

Charter
Currently, whether it is via a laptop or smartphone, the average person spends about one hundred and forty five minutes on the internet daily. On top of this, just Americans spend about 24 hours on the internet each week. One of the biggest questions that not many think about is: is browsing over the internet safe? What are the chances that a person will encounter a cyber-attack? While many people access the internet every day, not knowing what they may encounter, many also are hacked, their personal information accessed and either stolen or sold over the dark web. This could happen to almost anyone. Even the government can be hacked into. All it takes is one mistyped website URL or an interesting ad that was clicked on to trigger a virus installation. A one hundred percent secure internet does not exist. As public technology advances to improve security for everyone, technology will improve on the attacker’s side as well to combat it. Cybersecurity is a very big concept, especially in current times, and people should be more aware of the risks they could encounter over the internet and the simple steps they can take to prevent and reduce the amounts of threats they face over the internet. This website was created in response to a selected white paper issue from a white paper in Purdue's ENGL 42000 course titled "Cybersecurity: The Current State of Security". The problem addressed in this paper is how many people are not as secured from hackers and scammers as they think. The solution to this issue is to spread awareness and this can be done through a website that displays the truth about people’s internet access. People spend a great amount of time on the internet, so a website hosted on the internet seems appropriate for this Non-Profit. The contents of this website include the website itself, an original organization, a FAQ page, an informational video, an infographic statistics, and a works cited page. These pages all include opportunities to spread awareness of the risks of carelessly accessing the internet. The target audience of this project is the general public. Anyone who uses the internet can benefit from keeping an eye out for malware.
Memo
Our company’s logo involves a shield with a lock and the letters “RGR” on it. The background of the shield is a blue matrix style wallpaper. The background of each page is a bright blue cyber lock and it that does not distract too much when visiting the page. The color of the website was chosen to be blue as blue is a common color of trust, one of the main, over-arching themes of my campaign.
Our Home page consists of a hook with our mission statement. This is meant to lead readers into reading through the rest of the website. Below the mission statement is a button, that sends viewers straight into the informational video that they can watch without losing interest on the page. Next on the main page of the website is a Project Charter, stating all the reasonings and goals of the organization that is working on the website. This is the lengthiest chunk of information on the paper so it is important to keep the reader attached at all times so that is why the charter starts off with certain facts about the internet that many people might not know. Below the charter are the contents of this memo. At the very end of this page is an “about the org” section where users can read about the lead developer in this project. And finally, zoomed down enough on the page, you can view a small surprise that says, “stay secure”. These were added to the end as information about team members strays away from the main topic of the companies mission and we do not want that.
The FAQ page features a list of seven facts, which are some of the most helpful cyber attack facts, in the organizations opinion. The first question was one that many people are curious enough to wonder and the final question is one that many people may need to know. The Infographic page contains a custom infographic that has most statistics and facts that people should acknowledge in their daily lives. Finally, the works cited page contains a list of all sources used in the website’s development.

About Us
This organization is run by me, Abhijay Srivastava, a student at Purdue university majoring in cybersecurity. I have taken numerous courses on the topic, created a theoretical solution for phishing emails, and have also taken a survey around the campus in an attempt to raise cybersecurity awareness.
Personal Goal
My personal goal is to create an innovation in cybersecurity technology, and to do that, becoming an expert on the nature of attacks and the types of attacks that occur over the internet will help me reach that goal. Overall I want to keep as many people as possible from having to experience a cyber attack.
